Physics, Astronomy, and Materials Science Department

 

The Physics, Astronomy, and Materials Science Department is committed to excellence in teaching, research, and service in each of our disciplines, which allows us to provide the best possible learning environment for our undergraduate and graduate students. We offer a wide range of courses, from introductory level to advanced. Our faculty are deeply involved in research activities that include neural networks, the scholarship of teaching, the astrophysics of pulsating stars, and the fabrication and development of nanotechnology devices. Department members provide community service at the local, regional, and national levels. 

 

Announcements

Brewer Science Center in Rolla is looking for student interns from the Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics, Math, Computer Science, and Engineering areas. The Rolla location works with silicon wafers, synthesis of polymers, as well as other project types. If you are interested in this opportunity, please submit your resume to the Physics, Astronomy and Materials Science department.
