1) Bottom-up fabrication of nanoscale electronics and optoelectronics using nanomaterials as building blocks; 2) development of efficient nanoparticle catalysts for applications in fuel cells; 3) synthesis and structural characterization of novel functional nanomaterials; and 4) interactions of nanomaterials with biomolecules and cells.
