SQUID Obtained for MSU
SQUID (Superconducting Quantum Interference Device) is able to detect magnetic fields one trillion times weaker than that of a refrigerator magnet. This allows the SQUID to be used in biology for understanding the human body, computers, non-erasable memory, and surveillance, as any man-made object gives off a magnetic field. Graduate and undergraduate students will have the opportunity to work with the SQUID in certain courses. For more information contact Dr. Kartik Ghosh.
